The world is facing a significant crisis due to COVID-19. The outbreak of the coronavirus in India and the ensuing lockdown have created challenging times for everyone. Humanity is battling one of its greatest challenges, and it’s essential for us to come together and support each other. Daily wage workers have been particularly affected, as they lack the means to earn during the lockdown and often have no savings to fall back on.
Our Friends in Need Society (OFINS) has been actively engaged since early April, striving to minimize the impact of the lockdown and to support COVID patients and their families. As cases surged and the lockdown extended, OFINS focused on fulfilling the immediate needs of the community. We distributed food and groceries to those struggling to survive during this period. Our initiatives included grocery distribution, providing masks, sanitizers, and sanitary pads, offering oxygen support, establishing a COVID help desk, and running a mobile dispensary. We are grateful for the generous support from individuals, which has been crucial to our efforts.
