Consumer sovereignty is still a distance dream. Competition has improved services, brought down prices, but competitors indulge in unfair practices to garner a larger chunk of the market. Even today in India replacing a defective good is very difficult & warranty is not taken seriously. So seminar is the main sword to aware the common people, the daily consumers. Through seminar we can aware people for their consumer rights. To aware people on this OFINS has taken a serious initiative from 2013. We organize seminars on consumer right throughout the year involving nearby 15 High Schools. We chose students as the audience because they will be the future seller & consumer. So it is very important to aware them from the very early. We have arranged awareness programmes with the help of CONSUMER AFFAIRS & FAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES, sub divisional office, North 24 PGS, Govt. of Wet Bengal.
